Adex-Maison de l'Armagnac is pleased to announce the plantation of new vineyards planned in June 2008; the additional surface spread over 2 hectares 60. As grape variety we chose : Baco again !
According to information that was in the newsletter at the beginning of the year, Adex-Maison de l'Armagnac is pleased to announce the planting of new vines. The new planting will take place at the Château de Bordeneuve on the 19th and 20th of June 2008, they cover 2,60 ha which represents nearly 8,000 new vines. The variety was selected based on the soil characteristics of the domain and the specialty of the house being: distillation. And it's the BACO which has been chosen!
"These plantations are part of our plan to double our production over 4 years, explains Thomas Guasch, the wine producer, also distiller and manager of the company. To limit the looming rise in prices, we decided to spread the new production over 3 equal parts:

-- One third for bottle sales of young Armagnacs as demand is sustained;

-- One third to increase our inventory of vintages; demand is very strong, but our costs are proportional

-- One third to provide more quality bulk Armagnac to the operators that we usually provide.

The idea is simply to provide all our customers with premium Armagnacs, produced in the traditional way and at prices that we can guarantee because we're ACTUALLY the producers! "

The Baco, today recommended by the Institut National des Appellations d'Origine (INAO) is a grape that is exclusive to the Armagnac region and produces eaux-de-vies deemed fine and fruity.
The old retired winemakers whilst still rolling their "r's", will tell you as if it were an absolute truth: "This is the best variety for distillation!"

The Baco has other remarkable advantages, in that it ages brilliantly in oak casks and in a way of its own, providing a subtle blend of fruity flavours, roundness and spices to the Armagnacs. But above all it is a grape vine that is particularly resistant to disease. Thus making it the ecological vine for wine-making!!!

"Our goal will never be to pass from a quality production to an industrial production," says Jean-Claude Guasch, because even if we receive an increasing demand, our goal is to always to keep in mind our perpetual quest for perfection.
As W. Foster said, 'The quality is never an accident. It is the result of best intentions, sincere efforts, intelligent decisions and their clever realization…'
A wise truth that one does not loose sight of here!

Château de Bordeneuve is a vineyard located in Maignan-Eauze the Capital of Armagnac and whose sandy soils are extremely important to Bas Armagnac in the Gers.

Château de Bordeneuve is helped by well known tawny sands, having spent several centuries dedicating its' production exclusively to the distillation of Bas Armagnac!

In addition to its own collection, Château de Bordeneuve provides its' Armagnacs to several major brands.
